Simendo arthroscopy

The Simendo arthroscopy is designed for training and certifying orthopedic trainees and is used to obtain essential skills to safely perform arthroscopic knee and shoulder operations. The software includes three curricula, one for the knee and two for the shoulder (BCP – Beach Chair Position – and LDP – Lateral Decubitus Position).

Key features

  • Knee curriculum
  • Shoulder curriculum LDP and BCP

knee curriculum

Move the lower leg in order to create workspace in the knee joint.

Work on your accuracy with a 30 degrees angled camera by looking inside four boxes.

Work on your accuracy with a 30 degrees angled camera by looking inside six boxes positioned at complex angles.

In this exercise you have to navigate through the knee joint with an arthroscope. A standard trajectory from patella, to medial and then to lateral meniscus is followed.

Do a basic exploration of the knee joint using the arthroscope and an arthroscopic hook.

Manipulate an arthroscopic hook for pulling on meniscus tissue.

Shoulder curriculum Beach Chair Position

Navigate through the shoulder with an arthroscope from the subscapularis to the biceps tendon attachment (clockwise) with the patient in Beach Chair Position.

Navigate through the shoulder with an arthroscope from the biceps tendon attachment to the subscapularis (anti-clockwise) with patient in Beach Chair Position.

Inspect the shoulder joint using the arthroscope and an arthroscopic hook by touching the points of interest indicated by the spheres with the patient in Beach Chair Position.

Diagnosis Diagnose the shoulder joint for the following conditions: SLAP lesion, Bankart lesion and bicipital tendonitis while the patient is in Beach Chair Position.

Shoulder curriculum Left Lateral Decubitis Postition (LPD)

Navigate through the shoulder with an arthroscope from the subscapularis to the biceps tendon attachment (clockwise) with the patient in Lateral Decubtis Position.

Navigate through the shoulder with an arthroscope from the biceps tendon attachment to the subscapularis (anti-clockwise) with patient in Lateral Decubtis Position.

Inspect the shoulder joint using the arthroscope and an arthroscopic hook by touching the points of interest indicated by the spheres with the patient in Lateral Decubtis Position.

Diagnosis Diagnose the shoulder joint for the following conditions: SLAP lesion, Bankart lesion and bicipital tendonitis while the patient is in Lateral Decubtis Position.
